Mayapur is at outskirts of Nabadwip town, on the banks of Ganga (hoogli) and Jalangi river in the districts of Nadia, west bengal. Mayapur is believed to be the birth place of lord Sreechaitanya Mahaprabhu. It is also famous for ISCKON CHANDRODAYA TEMPLE at Mayapur dham which is  headquarters of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness).

All vaishnavs in bengal are followers of Mahaprabhu and it is a common place for them to visit and experience the spiritual ambience of MAYAPUR ISCKON TEMPLE.
On occations like rash purnima, dol purnima, Nabadwip especially Isckon temple experiences a huge number of devotees every year. To accomodate them the temple campus have rented rooms for devotees and tourists all the year. A whole day spent at mayapur will make you rich spiritually.

Daily events or rituals at Mayapur Chandrodaya temple




Rituals start with Mangal arati at 4:30 am, it is the time when offerings are made to radha krishna when they woke up and at night 8:15 pm rituals ends with Sayan arati after that temple closes for night. In between at noon after bhog offering and bhog arati, the devotees go for having lunch which they gets at big dinning hall by buying a lunch coupon from respective ticket counter within 11:30 am.
Mangal arati/prabhat arati and sandhya arati are the main events or rituals where all devotees take part and participate in the arati kirtan.

Mayapur Isckon GOSHALA is also a must watch place in the this temple campus. There are several cattle sheds built here to accomodate hundreads of cattles.

You will find a complete city inside the campus full of Krishna devotees and whole lot of shops. Several shops are there selling cloths, artifacts, books by Isckon, PRASADAM etc.

There is a museum in the campus where you will find teachings and biography of AC Bhaktibedanta Swamy Srila Prabhupada, the founder of Isckon.

Travel Guide

There are two ways to reach Mayapur, one is via Nabadwip and another is via Krishnanagar.
Nabadwip railway station is approximately 2 km from Nabadwip ferry ghat, from where we can take a boat to cross the hoogli river and reach Mayapur ferry ghat. Mayapur Dham is approximately 1 km from mayapur ghat. While Crossing river there is point where Jalangi joins Hoogli river but the clean water of Jalangi does not mix with the greyish water of Hoogli river and the division can be experienced clearly.


Krishnanagar City junction railway station is approximately 20 km, from there we can take local bus, auto to reach Mayapur.
Nabadwip connected to Howrah by railway route and Krishnanagar is connected to Sealdah by rail route.
